Walking with God

Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked with God.  Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.” Genesis 6:9-10

Recently, these verses came alive in a powerful way when the Retreat’s staff had the opportunity to visit Sight and Sound Theater to experience the presentation of “Noah” for a staff appreciation day. About 100 live animals filled the stage, creating a breathtaking and immersive experience. The message of the show aligned perfectly with Sight and Sound’s calling: “to bring the Bible to life.”

After the show, everyone gathered at Shady Maple Restaurant to enjoy their incredible smorgasbord. But the meal was about more than just food — it was a time of rich fellowship, laughter, and shared reflection on how God had spoken through the experience. It’s amazing how Scripture can come alive when we step into the story — when we see, hear, and feel the truth of God’s Word in such a tangible way. That day was more than just a show and a meal; it was a reminder that God’s Word is alive, active, and always speaking to us.

Many of you have grown to deeply appreciate and enjoy the ministry of Gwen Mouliert. She had a unique way of bringing Scripture to life and leaving a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of hearing her. However, it is with both sorrow and peace that we share that Gwen’s health began to decline recently, and on March 19th, the Lord lovingly called her to her new and eternal home in heaven. While we grieve her absence here on earth, we rejoice knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband and their son, Matthew.

Gwen will be deeply missed by so many whose lives she touched through her ministry, her wisdom, and her genuine heart. Her legacy of faith and truth will continue to inspire and encourage us. Though her voice may be silent here, her impact echoes on — and we know that we will see her again in glory.

This past week, we had the privilege of hosting Forward Coalition, led and founded by Alex and Jodi Seidler (Jodi is also one of our featured women’s speakers this September). This private gathering brought together pastors from all over — creating a sacred space where they could be poured into after so faithfully pouring out.

We recognize the weight that pastors and spiritual leaders carry. They give and give — often without pause — tending to the needs of their congregations and communities.

It was a truly beautiful time — rich with worship, deep fellowship, and powerful teachings. God’s presence was tangible, and we believe that what was imparted during this gathering will not only refresh these leaders but will also flow through them to bless their congregations and ministries. We are so grateful for the work of Forward Coalition — and we look forward to seeing the fruit of this time in the months and years to come.

Our logging project on the property is still underway, but we are hopeful that it will be completed soon. We want to thank you once again for your patience, grace, and understanding throughout this process. Our goal has always been to steward God’s mountain well — to care for it wisely and responsibly — and your support has made that possible.

We are confident that these efforts will not only enhance the beauty and health of the land but also create new opportunities for ministry and connection in the future. Thank you for walking with us through this season — we can’t wait to see what God will do next!
