Summer 2022 Newsletter

Summer on the Mountain 2022

Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and goodness!  We had many families here for our summer family weeks and it was good to worship, rest and play together here at Blue Mountain Christian Retreat.

The season kicked off in June with a packed Women’s Weekend led by Helen Trowbridge and a family weekend with Eagles’ Wings.  July rolled right in with the Summer Family Weeks.  It was a pleasure to have Gary & Harriet Ham and their son Pastor David for the first week.  They spoke on the Holy Spirit and what a gift we have in Him as our intercessor to our Heavenly Father.  Dr Karl Coke and Edwin Felicie made a wonderful team bringing us the Word on Forgiveness and Seasons of growth in the Lord.  Lynn Lucas shared how God is bringing to life old wells that were dug many years ago and told us to look for fruit from seeds planted before us – revival is on the horizon!  Steve Edlin touched our hearts with messages on pride and forgiveness.  Eagles’ Wings concluded July with a week of Spirit led teachings from their team.  Worship was sweet and the Lord was honored in this fun family month.

While the adults were growing and learning together, the children were engaged with the Children’s Ministry team, also learning the Word and having fun!  They enjoyed the Bible and learned skits and songs, had fun in the water with the slip and slide and the pool, and laughed together with games.  It was wonderful to welcome families of all sizes and ages from babies to grandparents!  The swimming pool was refreshing on those hot days and the Grill & Chill Snack Shop gave everyone a chance to get some sweet treats and energizing snacks.

While the Summer Family Weeks are finished for 2022, we have much more to come. Check out our website for Fall family weekends!  August is private groups month and we have a very busy schedule – praise God we are booked solid for the entire month.  Please pray for these church groups as they seek the Lord.  Our hope for them is to find a deeper relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.  Please pray for the staff as they work hard to meet the needs of many new guests in August!  As I write this we have over 400 guests arriving for the weekend!

So, as you pray for us here at Blue Mountain Christian Retreat, we will be praying for you and preparing the way for a wonderful retreat for you and your family.  Check your calendar and give us a call to come out and spend some quality time with family and grow closer to the Lord.  Starting on Labor Day Weekend with Charles Brooks we will flow right into the fall with 2 Women’s weekends (Jodi Seidler & Gwen Moulliert), a Men’s weekend (Rev. Peter DeArruda), 2 family weekends (Pastor Ray Barnard & Pastor Mark Jayakumar), a Youth Retreat (Exchange Weekend with Jonny Radcliff) and 2 November weekends with Shachah Dance and Worship Ministries. We hope you will call your friends and family and join us!  May God bless you and bring you safely to us!

Hebrews 10: 23-25 (NIV) Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

You can leave your imprint on God’s mountain and help share His love by giving a gift to grow God’s work here. Thank you!
